The art town of Campli, with its Holy Staircase, offers the chance to explore Italic archaeological sites, as well as learning about the brigands and the Bourbons, in the setting of the Gemelli peaks and the Val Vibrata, dominated by the imposing Bourbon fortress of Civitella del Tronto.

The history of the provincial capital is evident in the archaeological sites that date back to the early Bronze and Iron Age settlements. Roman ruins, churches and mansions reveal the central role Teramo played in the area, connecting the mountains and the coast.

The Adriatic coast is dotted with resort towns, blessed with wide sandy beaches and offering excellent resort facilities. In addition to the beach sites, the towns also have an upper inland historical area.

This rural area of foothills and mountains is home to villages and woods, and a starting point for hikes, cycling and climbing excursions. The artistic heritage is rich and varied, from the painted stone of Pietracamela to the centuries-old history of Castelli and it pottery, and also one of Europe’s most important places of worship: San Gabriele dell’Addolorata.
